The company's portfolio consists of stakes in about a dozen firms, including clothing company American Apparel, Dutch general retailer HEMA, and UK-based cereal-maker Weetabix. Formerly known as Glenisla, Lion Capital was the European arm of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (now KKR) until founders Lyndon Lea, Neil Richardson, and Robert Derwent spun off the company in 2004. The company has offices in London and New York.
