Company Description

LifeScan is sweet on diabetes patients. A subsidiary of health care giant Johnson & Johnson, the company is a leading supplier of blood glucose monitoring systems that help diabetics monitor and manage their disease. Many of the company's products -- including meters, test strips, lancing devices, and software sold under the OneTouch brand name -- allow users to test with tiny amounts of blood taken from the forearm or palm rather than using painful finger pricks. In addition to products for home use, LifeScan sells glucose monitoring systems (branded SureStep and OneTouch Flexx) that are used in hospitals and other institutional settings. It also makes insulin delivery pumps through its Animas unit.
