Legacy Health System strives to create a legacy of positive health in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area. A not-for-profit provider of health care services in Oregon and Washington, the health system operates about half a dozen hospitals, including Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital, all founded by a variety of secular organizations. Legacy Health has more than 1,000 total beds and its facilities provide such services as acute and critical care, behavioral health, and outpatient and health education programs. It also operates home health, hospice, and research facilities; emergency transportation helicopters; and a number of regional clinics and labs.
