The 400-bed teaching hospital's operations include centers devoted to trauma treatment, burn care, oncology, birthing, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and cardiology. It also houses the Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital, a 160-bed pediatric facility located on the same campus, and the area Life Flight Network, which is owned by a consortium of local hospitals. Legacy Emanuel Hospital was established in 1912 by the Lutheran Church.
