The company designs console servers that allow electronic devices such as bar code scanners, vending machines, thermostats, point-of-sale terminals, and security cameras to be accessed and controlled over networks. It also provides products for remote management of data centers and IT equipment. Lantronix, which outsources its manufacturing, sells primarily through OEMs, resellers, systems integrators, and distributors. Mega-distributors Ingram Micro (14% of sales) and Tech Data (7%) are the company's largest customers; others have included Honeywell, Rockwell Automation, the University of South Florida, and Welch Allyn. Lantronix gets more than half of its sales in the Americas.
