Company Description

Laird knows how to protect against interference and how to get messages through. The company makes shielding products for electronics and wireless communications products. For electronics manufacturers, Laird Technologies supplies products that shield against electromagnetic interference (EMI), such as conductive foam, printed circuit board grounding devices, and gaskets. It also offers antenna components and thermal reduction devices. Laird makes about 60% of its sales in Asia. In 2011 the company was approached with an unsolicited buyout offer from Cooper Industries for £2 a share. Laird rejected the initial offer but remains open to a higher bid.
