The state-owned conglomerate is one of the world's largest integrated oil concerns, and has subsidiaries active in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, including onshore and offshore exploration and production, and refining, marketing, and retailing. It also has petrochemical production and marine transportation businesses. KPC controls estimated proved oil and gas reserves of 104 billion barrels of oil equivalent. Kuwait boasts the world's third largest oil reserves, behind Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
