Philadelphia Cream Cheese may be named for a city in the US and we Yanks may "schmeer" it on our bagels -- but people eat it in the UK too, thanks to Kraft Foods UK. Along with the range of Philadelphia spreads, the Kraft subsidiary also sells Kenco and Tassimo coffee, Terry's Chocolate Orange candy, and Vegemite. The company closed its York confectionary plant in 2005 and transferred production to alternative sites in Western and Central Europe. While most of its products are manufactured elsewhere, Kraft Foods UK still makes instant coffee at its facility in Banbury.
