KELA can help a fella. This Finnish government-supervised company administers about 100 different benefits including maternity and adoption grants, child home care and private day care allowances, child disability allowances, doctor's fees, prescription reimbursements, student grants, unemployment income, national pensions, housing allowances, and more. All residents of Finland, plus those living abroad who are covered by the Finnish social security system are eligible for benefits. KELA, which runs more than 300 offices throughout Finland, operates under the supervision of the Finnish Parliament.
