These chiefs are trying to lead a tribe of football fans to the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs Football Club was founded by oilman Lamar Hunt as the Dallas Texans in 1959, a charter member of the American Football League. (Hunt also helped start the AFL and served as its first president.) In 1963 the franchise moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and was renamed the Chiefs. After the 1966 season, the team played in the first title game between the AFL and the National Football League (Hunt is credited with naming the match "The Super Bowl"), but lost to the Green Bay Packers. The team won its first and only Super Bowl three years later. To read the full description, subscribe now.
