Company Description
Kabel, cable, it's all the same thing. Kabel Deutschland (KD), Germany's largest cable network operator, provides digital TV and radio, Internet, and telephone service via cable to most of Germany's 16 states serving about 15 million homes. The company also offers mobile phone service in partnership Telefonica 02 Germany. KD carries about 33 networks in various cable, Internet, or phone only and bundled packages, as well as pay-per-view offerings (under the TV/Radio banner). Cable access accounts for about three-quarters of revenue. Subsidiary TKS provides cable, Internet, and phone access to NATO troops stationed in Germany. Investment firm Providence Equity Partners owns a controlling interest in the company.
