KONE manufactures passenger and freight elevators, escalators, autowalks, and automatic building doors; it also provides maintenance and repair services. It has installed more than 500,000 elevators and escalators, and nearly 300,000 building doors. The company's Cargotec division (loading and cargo moving services and products such as cranes, lift trucks, and terminal tractors) was spun off into a separate company, leaving KONE to focus on its elevator operations.
