J. Front Retailing is fronting the retail operations of leading Japanese department stores The Daimaru and Matsuzakaya Holdings. The holding company was established in 2007 when the two rival chains merged. Matsuzakaya isn't the new kid on the block either. Founded in 1616 as a kimono retailer, it runs 10 department stores in central Japan, including its flagship location in Nagoya. J.
