Company Description
Why yes, Polymetal is into more than one precious metal. Polymetal is Russia's top silver producer and among its largest gold companies as well, producing about 16 million ounces of silver and 250,000 ounces of gold each year. The holding company operates about a dozen production subsidiaries and exploration companies primarily in Russia. It generally exports its silver to China and Japan for industrial use in electronic components, and to India for jewelry-making. Polymetal was founded in 1998 by Russian investment firm ICT Group and went public in 2007. ICT Group retained control of one-fourth of the company.
