Isuzu Motors America was once a real Trooper, but most of its models have seen their last Rodeo. Once a distributor of Isuzu cars, pickups, and SUVs, the subsidiary of Isuzu Motors now offers only three vehicle models (the Ascender five-passenger SUV and the i290 and i370 pickups), and it exited the light-duty vehicle market in the US altogether in early 2009. The company also makes 30 models of diesel engines that offer up to 300 horsepower; sister company Isuzu Commercial Truck of America distributes Isuzu H-series, N-series, and F-series commercial trucks. Production of the seven-passenger Ascender SUV ended in 2006, and the once-popular Trooper, Rodeo, and Axiom also were retired. To read the full description, subscribe now.
