IPC The Hospitalist Company (IPC) is on the leading edge of a growing US trend toward hospitalist specialization. The staffing firm provides some 1,200 hospitalists to more than 345 hospitals and 440 other inpatient facilities in about 25 states. Hospitalists, or health care providers (physicians, nurses, and physicians assistants), oversee all of a patient's treatment from the beginning to the end of their stay. They answer questions and coordinate treatment programs to improve the quality of care and reduce the length of a patient's hospital stay. In addition to providing staff, the company offers training, information management services, and risk management services for its medical professionals and clients.
