The land where the tall corn grows is also the land of Iowa Health System (IHS). The integrated health care system operates some 14 acute care hospitals that serve large communities throughout Iowa, as well as parts of western Illinois and eastern Nebraska. IHS also supports about a dozen rural hospitals, and it manages more than 160 physician clinics located in rural and suburban areas.
