Company Description

Intersil Techwell designs electronic decoder chips that convert analog video into digital form, and processors used to display digital video, HDTV, and PC data. Mixed-signal semiconductors, which blend analog and digital elements, are used in consumer products capable of playing videos such as mobile phones and Apple's iPod. The company's customers include leading electronics manufacturers such as Fujitsu, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, and Toshiba. Almost all of its sales are made in the Asia/Pacific region. The company took its current form in 2010 when Techwell was acquired by Intersil for about $370 million in cash and rebranded as Intersil Techwell.
