Company Description

International Forest Products (Interfor) chucks more wood than a woodchuck could, and does it mainly in southern coastal British Columbia. The company operates about 10 sawmills and a remanufacturing site in Canada and the US Pacific Northwest. Most of the land on which it harvests timber is owned by British Columbia. It makes lumber for the construction market, logs for industrial processing, and wood chips for pulp production. Interfor also owns stakes in transportation businesses that distribute its products: the majority-owned Seaboard Shipping and wholly owned short-line railroads in Canada.
