Independent power company InterGen is really into the power generating business. As an international producer of electricity InterGen has interests in 12 power plant projects with about 8,150 MW of installed generating capacity (more than 6,310 MW net equity) in Australia, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Philippines, and the UK. All told, the company has developed more than 20 power plants (more than 16,000 MW of capacity) on six continents during the last decade. InterGen provides fuel procurement and project management, financing, and negotiation services. The power generated from its plants is sold to utilities, energy marketers, and end-use customers.
