Company Description
This company feels the power of buying power plants. Innergex Renewable Energy (formerly Innergex Power Income Fund) owns stakes in more than a dozen hydroelectric power plants and two wind farms in Canada and the US with a combined installed capacity of about 330 MW. Innergex Power Income Fund was established in 1990 to manage Canadian hydroelectric power plants. The company converted from a fund to a corporation and changed its name in 2010. The following year it acquired Cloudworks Energy, which holds 50.01% interests in six hydroelectric plants in British Columbia, and invested in its first solar project.
