Company Description

Inland Real Estate, a member of the Inland Group, buys, leases, and operates retail properties mainly in the Midwest with a concentration in the Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan markets. The self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) owns about 140 properties, most of which are strip shopping centers anchored by a grocery or big-box store. It also invests in single-tenant retail properties and develops properties, usually through joint ventures. The REIT's portfolio totals about 14 million sq. ft. of leasable space in a dozen states. Grocery store chain SUPERVALU is the company's largest tenant; other major clients include Dominick's Finer Foods, TJX Companies, and Roundy's.
