The company educates some 35,000 students at about 72 public charter and private schools in some 12 states and Washington, DC. Imagine Schools was established in 2003 by CEO Dennis Bakke and his wife Eileen through a buyout of Chancellor Beacon Academies, the second-largest school management group in the US (behind Edison ).
