Company Description

IDT keeps international phone calls cheap, whether you're calling Argentina or Zambia. The holding company makes most of its money through IDT Telecom, which provides prepaid calling cards to customers in the US and 30 other countries. IDT Telecom also offers retail domestic and long-distance access through its IDT America division, as well as wholesale voice and data services. Its Net2Phone subsidiary provides VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communications hardware and services to consumers and resellers. In 2011 IDT spun off its Genie Energy division, which resells natural gas and electricity and has stakes in oil exploration companies. Founder and chairman Howard Jonas controls almost 75% of IDT's voting power.
