Company Description

Huadian Power International is one of the largest independent power producers in China. The company constructs and operates power plants and oversees other businesses related to power generation. Huadian Power owns or has stakes in 23 power plants and power plant companies with a total net installed capacity of 16,650 MW. The company owns the entire interests in six plants in Shandong Province, including Zouxian Power Plant, Shiliquan Power Plant, and Laicheng Power Plant. Huadian Power, which was founded in 1994, is 51% owned by China Huadian Corp. In late 2011 the company agreed to buy a majority share of Inner Mongolia Haoyuan Coal for approximately $81 million.
