Company Description

Hope may spring eternal, whereas Hope Gas works hard to not spring a leak as it serves the Mountain State. The utility, which operates as Dominion Hope, distributes natural gas to about 117,000 customers in 32 of West Virginia's 55 counties. Hope Gas maintains a 2,800 mile pipeline network. The utility is a unit of Dominion Resources. The parent company transmits and distributes electricity to 2.4 million customers and natural gas to 1.9 million customers in five states through a number of subsidiary utility companies. Dominion Resources had agreed to sell Hope Gas to SteelRiver Infrastructure, but the deal fell through in 2009, and Dominion Resources reintegrated the business into its gas utility segment.
