The US beer-importing unit of Heineken (Netherlands) offers Heineken, Amstel Light (one of the US's best-selling imported light beers), Murphy's Irish Stout, and Irish Amber. Its parent's joint acquisition with Carlsberg in 2008 of Scottish & Newcastle, Britain's largest brewer, won Heineken USA the import rights to Newcastle Brown Ale. Heineken USA is also the sole US importer and seller of Mexico's former FEMSA Cerveza's beer brands, Tecate, Dos Equis, Sol, Carta Blanca, and Bohemia. For drinkers who want the brew without the buzz, the company sells Buckler, a nonalcoholic beer. Heineken beer was first imported into the US in 1880.
