Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) has the Blues in Chicago and the Southwest. A licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, HCSC consists of four regional Blue health plans: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. The mutually owned company provides group and individual health plans -- including HMO, PPO, point of care, high deductable, traditional indemnity, and Medicare supplemental coverage -- to some 13 million members, a majority of them in Illinois and Texas. Through some non-Blue subsidiaries, HCSC sells dental, life, disability, and property/casualty insurance.
