Here's a twist on a relatively new concept: corporate mis-speak. Following a trip to London in the 1950s, one of Harrow Stores' original members returned with a plan to name the retail venture after the posh Harrods department store. He mistakenly remembered the name as Harrow's, and thus, the casual furniture retailer by that name came into existence. The company sells outdoor home furniture, above ground swimming pools and spas, backyard accessories, and seasonal items (it is particularly known for its Christmas decorations) through several stores in New York and a single location in New Jersey. Harrow's, owned by Ken Ehrlich, emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late 2007.
