Harlem Globetrotters International owns and operates the famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball troupe, known for its display of outrageous hoops skills, stars and stripes uniforms, and iconic Sweet Georgia Brown theme song. The team was formed in Chicago in 1926 as the Savoy Big Five and has performed in 120 countries; its roster has included such notable players as Wilt Chamberlain, Curly Neal, and Meadowlark Lemon. The company is 80%-owned by investment fund Shamrock Capital; chairman Mannie Jackson, a former Globetrotter himself, owns the rest.
