Operating through its subsidiaries, Harbin Electrical Machinery Works, Harbin Boiler Factory, and Harbin Steam Turbine Plant, HPE manufactures thermal power (boilers and steam turbines), hydro power, and nuclear power equipment, in addition to providing engineering services and ancillary equipment for power stations, and alternating current-direct current (AC/DC) motors. Its equipment and expertise serve power projects in China, and to a lesser extent abroad. HPE is a subsidiary of Harbin Power Plant Equipment Group.
