Company Description
Habersham Bancorp was the holding company for Habersham Bank, which served northern Georgia from about a dozen branches. The bank offered checking and savings accounts, IRAs, CDs, and NOW accounts, as well as trust services, credit cards, and asset management. Construction and land development loans accounted for nearly half of the company's loan portfolio; residential and commercial mortgages were around 40%. Bank subsidiary Advantage Insurers sold property/casualty, life, and business insurance. Habersham Bank failed in 2011 and was seized by regulators.
