Company Description
Guinness Peat Group (GPG) invests in public companies in the financial services, textiles, building services, property development, and food sectors. It has holdings in some 30 companies; about half are in Australia and New Zealand, with the rest in Asia, Europe, and the US. GPG stopped making new investments and in 2011 announced it is divesting the remainder of its portfolio to enhance shareholder value. The decision was made after an independent sub-committee evaluated GPG's options.
