Grupo Modelo wears the corona as the King of Beers. The brewer commands more than a 60% share of the Mexican beer market. Its half dozen-plus domestic breweries produce and distribute 13 brands, including Corona Extra, the #1 Mexican beer sold in the world, Estrella, Leon Negra, Modelo Especial, Montejo, Pacifico, Negra Modelo, and Victoria. Internationally, the US is Modelo's largest market; however, the group exports to more than 170 countries as well as operates a chain of more than 700 convenience stores under the Extra and Modelorama banner. Modelo -- 50% owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev (A-B- InBev) -- is the sole Mexican importer and distributor of A-B InBev's products, including Budweiser and Bud Light.
