Famsa has also made inroads in the US (25% of sales), with about three dozen locations in predominantly Hispanic markets in Arizona, California, Illinois, Nevada, and Texas. Its credit and financing options entice hordes of customers that otherwise might not be able to buy the company's home electronics, appliances, furniture, clothing, or cell phones. Famsa also provides travel agency and auto financing services and launched Banco Ahorro Famsa, a commercial bank, in 2007. The company was founded in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1970.
