Company Description
If Grupo Comercial Chedraui can't give you the whole enchilada, it certainly can provide you with everything you need to make one. One of Mexico's leading retailers, the company sells groceries, apparel, appliances, and other non-perishable items in more than 140 Chedraui supermarkets, hypermarkets, and warehouse stores in more than 25 cities in central and southern Mexico. It also owns 15 check-cashing and remittance locations under the CheSuma name, as well as about 20 El Super supermarkets in the Los Angeles area that cater to Hispanics. Established in 1927 by a family of Lebanese descent in the port city of Veracruz, the Mexican supermarket operator went public in early 2010.
