Griffon Hoverwork Ltd. (GHL) offers a line of hovercraft that are designed to go where other vehicles fear to tread. GHL's hovercraft can carry payloads of up to about 22 tons, as many as 180 passengers, and can hit speeds of up to 45 knots. The company's commercial models are used as passenger ferries and in civil engineering support, search and rescue, and beach patrol. Military uses include amphibious assault, minesweeping, and commando missions. In a Griffon hovercraft there aren't many places you can't go -- they feel right at home on water, mud, snow, ice, land, swamp, rocks, and rapids. In 2009 the Bland Group purchased Griffon Hovercraft and merged the firm with Hoverwork Ltd. to form Griffon Hoverwork.
