Company Description
Grede Foundries produced gray iron, ductile iron, and steel metal castings for farm and construction machinery, motor vehicles, and a host of industrial equipment. Grede's short list of castings included axles, brackets, crankshafts, hydraulic end caps, and sprockets. Its lineup also featured compressor parts, exhaust manifolds, transmission rings, and wheel cylinders. Grede (pronounced "grady") provided services, too, such as design, painting, machining, and subassembly. Founded in 1920 by William Grede, the business continued under his family.
