The company makes standard dry freight trailers, refrigerated trailers (reefers), and platform (or flatbed) trailers. Great Dane has manufacturing plants in six US states, with sales, parts, and service centers across North America and South America. Due to the economic downturn and the need for more efficient manufacturing, Great Dane in 2009 closed its original plant in Savannah, Georgia, transferring reefer production to plants in Indiana and Nebraska.
