In the beginning was the oil. And on the third day (or thereabouts) there was oil gathering and marketing and related activities. Genesis Energy purchases and aggregates crude oil at the wellhead and makes bulk buys at pipeline and terminal facilities for resale. The company transports crude oil (and carbon dioxide) through 930 miles of pipeline, primarily along the US Gulf Coast. Genesis Energy has a storage capacity of 1.5 million barrels, and has a fleet of 250 trucks that carry oil from the wellhead to end users. The company also provides sulfur-related refinery services to eight refineries, and is engaged in wholesale carbon dioxide and other industrial gas marketing.
