Company Description

GasLog may seem like an odd name for a shipping company, until you realize those huge ships are carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company owns 2 LNG carrier ships and, through subsidiary GasLog LNG Services, manages another 12 vessels. Most of the managed ships are owned by oil and gas giant BG Group. GasLog focuses on multi-year charter contracts of about seven years that include crew and maintenance. As global demand for LNG is growing at a time when ship builders are straining to keep up with demand, the company expects to capitalize by adding an additional eight carriers, nearly all of them already carrying charter contracts. GasLog was formed in 2003. It went public in early 2012.
