Company Description

From Canada to Chile, airline TACA (Transportes Aéreos Centroamericanos) bridges the Americas. The carrier serves about 90 desinations throughout North and South America as well as the Carribean. It operates a fleet of almost 50 jets, mostly Airbus models, from hubs in Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Peru. Founded as an cargo carrier in 1931, TACA formed a joint venture with Colombian airline Avianca in 2010 called AviancaTaca to expand the carriers' services and flight network. AviancaTaca is two-thirds owed by Avianca's parent, Synergy Aerospace, and one-third owned by TACA's parent, Kingsland Holding Corp. (controlled by the family of TACA CEO Roberto Kriete).
