FPB Bancorp is for the birds. Snow birds, that is. It's the holding company for First Peoples Bank, which targets retired winter visitors, as well as year-round residents and small to midsized businesses in southeastern Florida. The six-branch bank operates in Fort Pierce, Palm City, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, and Vero Beach, offering such standard deposit products as CDs and checking, savings, and money market accounts. Commercial real estate and business loans together account for about 85% of its loan portfolio; consumer loans make up most of the rest. The bank sells into the secondary market all of the fixed-rate residential mortgages that it writes. First Peoples Bank opened two new branches in 2008.
