Operating as a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Koç Holding (each owns 41%), Ford Otomotiv Sanayi, or Ford Otosan, manufactures commercial vehicles and imports/exports passenger cars. Ford Otosan is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of commercial vehicles in Turkey. It operates a plant in Koçaeli -- where almost 270,000 Transit Connect commercial vehicles and Transit minibuses, pickups, and vans are manufactured (about 80% are exported) -- and another in Eskisehir, as well as a spare-parts distribution warehouse in Istanbul. Annually selling more than 330,000 vehicles in Turkey, Ford Otosan was founded in 1959.
