Company Description
This federal association wants all Germans to be A-OK. Since Germany has no national health care, everyone must be covered by a private institution. The AOK's mission is to make sure that each of nearly 27 million Germans is provided the same quality of health care, regardless of such factors as income, marital status, or personal risk. The AOK's more than 1,500 branches are divided into about 17 autonomous regional units; the employers, employees, and customers of the units elect their own governing boards. These, in turn, elect their own managing boards, as well as governing and managing boards to oversee the entire operation.
