Energy XXI would like to deliver twice the energy and then some. The oil and natural gas exploration and production company has proved reserves of more than 50 million barrels of oil equivalent. Its properties include about 135,000 acres of land along the Gulf of Mexico, mostly in (or near) the state of Louisiana. Nearly 80% of the company's assets are offshore. Energy XXI spends about half of its production dollars exploring for new sources of oil and gas; it spends the rest exploiting resources previously overlooked by other companies.
