The Energy Information Administration (EIA) is the statistics arm of the US Department of Energy . Created in 1977, the EIA offers data, forecasts, and analyses of energy and how it relates to the economy and environment. Energy data is collected by EIA staff from surveys sent out to producers, users, transporters, and other key energy-related businesses. The EIA's analysis products consists of technical reports and articles, while its forecasts cover supply, consumption, prices, and other critical energy factors.
