Company Description

Though it has its origins in coffee and tea trading, Elementis is now a purveyor of paint additives and chromium chemicals. Its largest two segments are the diverse Specialties and chromium chemicals. The first produces additives used in paints, inks, and coatings; catalysts used in coatings; zinc products; and carboxylates used in drugs and electronics. The latter segment is the world's #1 producer of chromium chemicals, which are used in superalloy production, metal finishing, timber treatment, and leather tanning. Elementis also manufactures surfactants used in oilfield chemicals and in pulp and paper manufacturing. The company has manufacturing operations in the US, Europe, and the Pacific Rim.
