Company Description
Electro Scientific Industries (ESI) and its subsidiaries use science -- and a lot of engineering -- to help customers produce electronics. The company's laser-based equipment is used to manufacture and test semiconductors, interconnect devices, LEDs, and other electronic components. Its offerings include yield improvement, optical inspection, and high-capacity test equipment. Outside of manufacturing, applications include forensics, bioimaging, and environmental research. ESI's customers have included Canon, Hynix, Kulicke and Soffa, Kyocera, Samsung Electronics, and STMicroelectronics. More than 80% of sales come from customers in the Asia/Pacific region.
