Magazines include Hjemmet (Denmark), Hjemmet (Norway), and Hemmets Journal (Sweden). While most activities are concentrated in Scandinavia and Europe, Egmont also publishes kids' books in the US. Egmont H. Petersen founded the firm in 1878 as a printing shop. The company is owned by the Egmont Foundation, an organization devoted to charitable activities for children.
